Sheets and Metrics - A new way to model your data in JustPerform

JustPerform Sheets introduce an advanced, web-based table that extends beyond snippets and Excel. Accessible via the web platform, these Sheets provide a tabular format for users to capture and manipulate data in rows and columns effortlessly. This familiar environment allows users to input and organize information in a tabular structure, with entered and computed values saved to these tables.

Metrics within JustPerform Sheets represent sets of data with shared attributes, serving as key dimensions. A sheet can accommodate multiple metrics of different types, including text, number, formula, etc., based on specific needs. Users can combine and manipulate metrics across sheets to create new metrics through computations, capturing calculation logic without using Business Rule engine calculations.

For instance, imagine Gross Sales Price as a numerical metric recording sales data across different departments, and Discount as a percentage metric representing applied discounts. Through these metrics, a third metric, Net Sales, as a formula metric, can be derived by calculating the product of Gross Sales Price and Discount. This flexible approach enables users to analyze and understand data more effectively within the platform.

Data Locking by Version and Time

The Data Locking feature in JustPerform prevents accidental data changes during specific time periods and applies when saving data to input forms or using calculation rule engines.

'To activate Data Locking:

  1. Go to Model Schema > Reference.

  2. Check the Allow Data Locking checkbox.

  3. Set up the following System Properties:

    1. TIMEID in Time Field Type to identify time sequencing

    2. EDIT_FROM and EDIT_TO (linked to Time) in Scenario Field Type to define allowed periods for each version.

Once set up, the system restricts input data saving or calculations outside the defined periods for the selected version. Users attempting to do so will receive an error indicating the Version-Time combination is not allowed for posting.
