Sheet Details: Fields

The dimensions panel contains metrics and dimensions included in the sheet. New metrics and dimensions can be added to the sheet from here. Additionally, selections for allowed members can be set by collapsing the dimensions. You can create a new metric or import a metric from a different sheet. Below the Metrics and Dimensions sections are Options. Options are powerful additional features that can enhance sheet capabilities. The two options are Allow Multiple Sections and Consolidate Data in Sheet.

Operations on Metrics

Expand:Expand metrics to view existing metrics and their types. Metrics within the same sheet will show only the metric name, while linked metrics will be displayed as Sheet_Name.Metric_Name. All metrics will have the metric data type to their left.

Add Metrics: Click Add Metrics beside metrics. The popup allows the creation of new metrics by entering the Metric Name and Data Type. Upon saving, the newly created and existing metrics will appear in the metrics section.

Link Metrics: When Link Metrics is selected, a selector opens. From here, existing metrics from different sheets can be imported and used in the sheet as a linked metric.

More: The More option includes the following selections:

  • Remove: To remove the metrics from sheet.
  • Move Down: To move the metric up in sequence.
  • Move Up: To move the metric down in sequence.

Operations on Dimensions

Add Dimensions: In the sheet's details pane, dimensions section, click Add Dimensions. In the popup, select from available dimensions by checking the checkbox beside them. Click Insert Items and OK. Dimensions will be added and appear in the Dimensions section.

Allow Members: Expand the dimension by clicking the angle-right button on the left of the dimension. Here you can select the members you want to allow from the dropdown. The available options are:

  1. Any: All members in the dimension will be available for input/report. For example, for Customer, all members are allowed.
  2. Selective: Allowed members will be filtered by Group Type or Subdimension Type Property. In the Where dropdown, select the property. Only one property can be selected. In the Equals to dropdown, select the property value you want to allow. Multiple values can be selected here. For example, for Product, Selection is the property and Standard is the property member.

More: The More option includes the following selections:

  • Remove: To remove the dimension from sheet.
  • Move Down: To move the dimension up in sequence.
  • Move Up: To move the dimension down in sequence.

Options

Allow Multiple Sections

The Allow Multiple Sections checkbox lets users add more sections to the sheet. If the sheet has more than one section, the metrics and dimensions in each section are separated accordingly. Dimensions and metrics in each section can be removed, moved up, or moved down using the More option.

Consolidate Data in Sheet

The second option available under Features is Consolidate Data in Sheet. This feature allows you to create and run consolidation rules directly within the sheet. To enable this option, the sheet must contain the dimensions required for consolidation operations. These dimensions include: Version, Time, Account, Flow, Organization Unit, Dataset, and Group (Currency).

Under consolidation, you will see three options:

  • Maintain as YTD Balance: Stores data in the sheet using a Year-to-Date (YTD) format. Profit and Loss data will reflect the year-to-date value for each month.
  • Track Interco Detail: Enables tracking of trading partner data within the same sheet. When this option is activated, the Trading Partners dimension type is required.
  • Enable Auto Journal and Elimination (To be released): Allows the use of automatic journal entries and elimination rules within the same sheet.
