Performance Tracking in Task Monitor
Task Monitor helps the admin user to keep track of all the calculations run by the users. Task Monitor provides a holistic view of calculation activities, enabling administrators to monitor performance, track execution status, and identify issues affecting system operations.
Task Monitor provides a holistic view of calculation activities with comprehensive dashboard displaying In-Progress, Success, Failed, and Warning status calculations. Admin users can filter by tasks, users, status, client, and time frame to track performance metrics. The monitor helps track all calculations run by users and view error logs encountered during execution. Comprehensive logs contain timestamps, user details, and status updates enabling performance analysis. Administrators can monitor In-progress logs, analyze error logs, and take necessary action to maintain system performance.
Accessing Task Monitor
Task Monitor can be accessed from Governance under Monitoring. The dashboard provides comprehensive logs containing timestamps, user details, and status updates for performance tracking.
Performance Dashboard
The Task Monitor displays a complete dashboard with all calculations that are In-progress, completed, or failed.
Calculation Status Overview - View all calculations across the system organized by status (In-Progress, Success, Failed, Warning).
Holistic View - Gain information about each calculation process, enabling comprehensive performance tracking across the workspace.
Real-Time Tracking - Monitor In-progress logs in real-time to track current calculation activity and system load.
Status Types
When the calculation is run, there are 4 types of status that users can encounter:
In-Progress - Calculation is currently executing. Monitor these to track active system operations and resource utilization.
Success - Calculation completed successfully. Track success rates to measure system reliability and performance.
Failed - Calculation encountered an error and did not complete. Analyze failed calculations to identify performance issues or data problems.
Warning - Calculation completed with warnings. Review warnings to identify potential issues that may affect performance or data quality.
Performance Filtering
Various types of filters are available for making it easy for admin users to keep track of performance metrics:
Tasks or Objects Filter - Admin users can select the particular task for which they want to see performance information.
Users Filter - Filter by users who ran the calculations to track individual user activity and identify performance patterns by user.
Status Filter - Filter by status (In-Progress, Success, Failed, Warning) to focus on specific performance aspects.
Client Filter - Filter by which license of the client the calculation was run, enabling multi-tenant performance tracking.
Time Frame Filter - Admin users can define the time frame for which they want to see calculations run, enabling performance analysis over specific periods.
Performance Analysis
Success Rate Tracking - Track the ratio of successful calculations to total calculations to measure system reliability.
Failure Analysis - Analyze error logs encountered by users to identify recurring performance issues or calculation problems.
Time-Based Performance - Review calculations by time frame to identify peak usage periods or performance degradation over time.
User Performance Patterns - Filter by users to identify performance patterns, heavy users, or users encountering frequent errors.
Use Cases
System Performance Monitoring - Monitor In-Progress calculations to track system load and identify when too many calculations are running simultaneously.
Error Rate Analysis - Track Failed and Warning status calculations over time to measure error rates and identify trends requiring attention.
Peak Usage Identification - Filter calculations by time frame to identify peak usage periods and plan for resource allocation.
User Training Needs - Filter by users to identify those with high failure rates, indicating potential training needs or support requirements.
