This article describes the significant feature enhancements in JustPerform v26.04.
Google Sheets Add-In
This release introduces the JustPerform Google Sheets Add-In, which enables users to log in, browse activities, and load, save, and refresh sheet and snippet data directly within Google Sheets. The add-in installs from the Google Workspace Marketplace and launches from Extensions > JustPerform > Launch in Google Sheets.
Users authenticate using username and password, ISW SSO, or non-ISW SSO. After logging in, the Activities Home Page displays all cycles and activity instances based on the user's role and authorization. Users select an activity and instance to view assigned tasks, load sheet and snippet tasks into the active Google Sheet tab, and save or refresh data between Google Sheets and JustPerform.
The add-in supports the following capabilities:
- User context and member selection for dimension filtering across loaded sheets.
- Data Details and Data History for cell-level value breakdown and audit history.
- Cell Picker for controlling where task data appears in the Google Sheet.
- Loaded Tasks management with options to remove tasks or open them in JustPerform web.
- Workflow status updates directly from the add-in for users and reviewers.
- Full multilingual localization managed via the Platform Localization tab in JustPerform web.
For more information, see Google Sheets Add-In.
Control Reporting by Status
The Control Reporting by Status feature enables financial users to validate the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of their data submissions prior to final reporting. Instead of exposing users to a raw and potentially overwhelming list of validation errors, this feature transforms control results into a structured, actionable diagnostic dashboard.
By organizing thousands of validation checks into logical hierarchies and exposing detailed calculation logic—including formulas, input variables, and comparison thresholds—users can efficiently identify root causes, reduce troubleshooting time, and ensure high‑quality financial reporting.
Key Benefits
-
Centralized Validation
Aggregate all system validation checks—Integrity, Intercompany, Budget, and Consistency—into a single, unified reporting view.
-
Root Cause Analysis
Move beyond basic error messaging by exposing the precise mathematical formula, input variable values, and comparison rules that triggered each control status.
-
Navigation Efficiency
Leverage hierarchical grouping (via Control Sets) and multi‑dimensional filtering (for example, Entity, Account, and Flow) to help users efficiently navigate large volumes of data and focus on critical blocking issues.
-
Logic Transparency
Clearly separate:
- Calculation logic (Formula)
-
Comparison rule (Comparer and Threshold)
This distinction enables users to determine whether failures are caused by missing data, calculation mismatches, or tolerance breaches.
For more information, see Control Reporting by Status.
Enhanced Time Summary Method for Account Dimensions
The Time Summary Method extends the existing Account Summary Method by enabling Time‑specific consolidation behavior within Account dimensions. This enhancement allows parent members in the Time hierarchy—such as Quarter or Year—to be calculated using logic that differs from standard dimensional rollups.
Key Concept
Normally, the SUMMARYMETHODTYPE property controls aggregation behavior across all dimensions. With this enhancement:
- When calculating Time parent members, the system evaluates the TIME_SUMMARY_METHOD first.
- If configured, TIME_SUMMARY_METHOD takes precedence over SUMMARYMETHODTYPE.
- This allows independent control of Time consolidation logic without affecting other dimensions.
For more information, see Time Summary Method for Account Dimensions.
Data Status Management Enhancements for Journals
Data Status Management for Journals has been enhanced to simplify configuration, improve consistency, and provide stronger control over Journal editability and creation without impacting Consolidation data.
- Enable Data Protection Rules to be configured at the Journal level instead of at individual metric levels. A single rule can now be applied consistently across all metrics within a Journal.
- Preserve existing Journal Status behavior and evaluate it in combination with the configured Data Protection Rule to determine whether a Journal document is editable or locked.
- Allow Data Status assignment at the Journal Template level to lock Journal creation for specific Versions and Time periods without affecting consolidation data.
- Record Data History for all Journal List–level metrics, ensuring complete and consistent audit tracking across all journal updates. Data History is captured for manually created and imported journals, as well as for individual updates and mass updates.
For more information, see Data Protection Rule.
Dataflow Filter Relationship Indicators
The dataflow filter UI is enhanced to visually differentiate between Equal To and Exclude member selections. Filter tags now display relationship badges such as [LM] for included members and [-LM] for excluded members, providing immediate clarity on the filter logic applied to each selection.
Move Data Validation
The Move Data operation is enhanced to perform pre-move validation before executing data transfers. If the target period falls outside the configured Edit From/To or Applicable From/To range, or the target version is locked, the system displays a validation message and preserves the original source data. When both Edit and Applicable ranges are configured, the Applicable range takes priority for validation.
Workflow Enhancements: Parameters
The Workflow Designer is enhanced to support global parameters that allow users to define reusable values at the workflow level.
Two types of parameters are available:
- Automated parameters (such as Current Date, Current User, and Current Period) that resolve automatically at runtime
- User-defined parameters that prompt for input during workflow execution.
Parameters can be referenced in node configurations using the ${parameter_name} syntax.
Parameter support extends to the following node types:
- SQL Script Nodes (JP-8238): Users can embed workflow parameters within SQL queries. The system resolves parameter values before executing the SQL script.
- Remote Table Read Nodes (JP-8506): Users can include workflow parameters within remote table read configurations to dynamically filter or parameterize data retrieval from external sources.
- Mapping Nodes (JP-8551): Users can embed workflow parameters within mapping configurations, enabling dynamic value resolution during workflow execution.
For more information, see Workflow Enhancements.
Workflow Enhancements: Master Data Write Node
A new Master Data Write node is available in the Workflow Designer. This node enables workflows to write data directly to master data tables within the workspace. The node supports insert and update operations and allows users to map source columns to target table columns for automated data synchronization and dimension member management.
For more information, see Workflow Enhancements.
Custom Metric Formatting in Visuals
Visual snippets are enhanced to support per-metric formatting. A Format Metric button is available next to metrics in the visual details panel, allowing users to configure the display format and custom decimal places for individual metrics. Formatting applies consistently to both the table grid and visual data labels.
Custom REST API Connection
This release introduces a new Custom REST API source type in the Connections module. Administrators can configure connections to external REST API endpoints using OAuth authentication with support for Basic Authentication and Client Credential authentication types. On successful connection, users can load data from the external REST API to a remote table in JustPerform.
For more information, see Custom REST API Connection.
Include Selections in Standard Calculation Task Monitor Log
Task Log Details for standard calculations have been enhanced to provide greater visibility into actions performed through a Task in Process, the Calculation button, or when executed directly. The following information is now included for Copy, Move, and Clear actions:
- Selections screen details for all three actions, and Target selection details specifically for Copy and Move actions
- A clear, standardized message indicating the action type (Copy / Move / Clear) and execution status (Succeeded / Failed)
- Metric audit information for improved traceability
Sheet and Snippet Export: Raw Format Option for Large Datasets
The sheet and snippet export functionality is enhanced to support large datasets that previously caused memory crashes during formatted exports. When a dataset exceeds 100,000 cells, the system prompts the user with an option to export data in raw format instead of formatted export.
For more information, see Sheet and Snippet Export: Raw Format Option for Large Datasets.
Rounding in Metric Variance Comparison
This feature introduces rounding logic for numeric metrics to prevent false “Not Matched” variance results caused by minor precision differences between simulated and stored values.
For metrics with Number, Integer, or Currency data types, both simulated and stored values are rounded to 8 decimal places before comparison. The variance status is determined using the rounded values only. If the rounded values are equal, the metric is marked as “Matched”; otherwise, it is marked as “Not Matched.”
The rounding logic applies only to comparison, not to display. Values shown on the Metric page retain their original precision as stored in the database. This ensures that refreshing the Metric page does not incorrectly toggle the variance status to “Not Matched” when values are functionally the same.
All metric formulas are updated to use the new numeric comparison logic, and the behavior is applied consistently across all Metric pages.
Unreferenced Input Metric Warning
The metric publish and data refresh operations are enhanced to display an informational message when one or more configured input metrics are not referenced in the metric formula. This notification helps users identify potential misconfigurations that may prevent delta change calculations from triggering as expected.
