Creating Functional Areas

To create a functional area in product name and version here,

  1. Navigate to an app in the Explorer pane.

  2. Click on the Plus icon and select Functional Area.

  3. This will open a Functional Area pane where you can input the necessary information, such as the functional area's name and description.

  4. Additionally, you can select control dimensions and linked access dimensions from the Update List.

  5. When there are data protection rules in the system, you can select one to apply to the functional area.

  6. Once you have filled in all the details, simply click SAVE to create the functional area.

Control Dimensions

This dimension should be mandatorily selection from the list. The dimension will control the functional area access.

Linked Access

When working with multiple control dimensions, you can streamline authorization management by deriving access for one dimension from another. For example, if both Cost Center and Profit Center are used, you can automatically assign user access to the Profit Center based on the Cost Center values already assigned.

Data Protection Rule The data protection rule applied to the functional area.
