Navigating Functional Areas

Functional areas are accessible from the Explorer of the product name and version here web platform. They are contained in the apps within the space and are represented by the functional area icon.

Catalog Tab

The Catalog tab enables users to view the various models associated with a functional area and obtain detailed information about them. This feature provides users with a comprehensive overview of the models and their associated details, allowing them to make informed decisions about the functional area's management.

The Catalog tab is displayed in a table structure. The rows include sheets, boards, models, etc., contained within the functional area.

The level 2 header includes options to search and edit functional area details.

Hovering over a resource name reveals a floating toolbar with the following options: Add Objects, Open in New Tab, Copy, Edit, and Delete. Note that the available icons may vary depending on the resource type.

Metric Tab

The Metric tab contains a list of all the metrics within the functional area. By default, the Metric tab displays in a tree view. To switch to table view, click the Metrics icon on the level 2 header.

In the table view, the metrics are listed by the sheet they are created in, metric name, data type, formula logic if it is a formula metric, Applies-To dimensions added to the metric, data protection rule applied to the metric, dimensions included in the sheet containing the metric, and the functional area to which the metrics belong.

The level 2 header provides the following options:

  • Search

  • Edit Functional Area details

  • Toggle between tree and table views

  • Export metric details as an Excel sheet via the ellipsis menu

Localization Tab

Administrators can manage translations of elements within the functional area in the Localization tab.
