Snippets - Visual
JustPerform empowers Data Visualization and Intelligence for users by allowing to effortlessly create diverse visual reports using their existing standard or virtual model data. Visuals are dynamic data visualizations designed to effortlessly generate visual reports. Users can navigate to any authorized model and start creating their visuals with the model data.
Visualization Categories
Visual snippets offer four major categories of chart types, with each category containing a specific set of visualization types:
Comparison Charts - Stacked bar chart, Clustered bar chart, Clustered column chart, 100% stacked bar chart, 100% stacked column chart, Line and stacked column, Polar chart, Line and clustered column, Waterfall chart.
Trend Charts - Line chart, Area chart, Stacked area chart.
Composition Charts - Pie chart, Doughnut chart, Half doughnut chart.
Indicator Charts - Card, Multi-row card, KPI, Multi row KPI, Gauge.
Customization Options
Any further customization of the visual can be managed via the Toolbar, which is situated in the level 2 header. The tool offers a toolbar for selecting options, including Visual Type, Color Banding, Chart Element settings, Data/Table settings, and Visual Interactions. See Snippets Design Pane: Visuals for details about the options.
Privacy and Sharing
Privacy and sharing settings can be defined by users for sharing visuals. Visual snippets can be created as Private or Public snippets. Public snippets can be accessed by anyone with functional area permission, while private snippets are exclusively accessible by the user who created them.
Snippets can be shared with filters using the web URL. Authorized users can view the reports with their respective filters, enabling targeted analysis based on specific data details and history.
AI-Powered Visualization
JustPerform features integrated AI-powered capabilities through Lineos AI boards or snippets, enabling users to perform intelligent data analysis and create visualizations directly within the platform. The AI integration is available both within board snippets and on the homepage. Users can request specific visualizations, with the AI automatically selecting the most suitable chart type based on the provided data.
For more information, see Lineos.
Creating Visual Snippets
Visuals can be created similarly to other snippets by selecting the type as Visual. Similar to report snippets, users are guided through details and field selection, allowing them to choose by drag-and-drop the fields they wish to visualize.
Layout Structure - The design pane closely resembles that of a report snippet, with the primary distinction lying in the layout. In an input sheet and report, you work with rows and column axes, while a visual employs Axis (Categories) and Legend (Series). The filter functionality remains consistent across all snippet types.
Required Fields - Once the visual layout is established, it is mandatory that both the axis and legend fields are populated; they cannot be left blank. Filters, on the other hand, are optional.
Automatic Generation - Depending on the chosen layout, the system will provide recommendations and automatically generate a visual representation of the data.
Working with Visuals
Preview and Refresh - Visuals can be previewed by users with a simple "refresh" and they may choose to publish it. Dynamic, interactive visuals can be defined with multitude options for different types of charts for comparison, composition, trend, and Indicators.
Adjustments - Changes to visuals has been as simple for any users to analyze and build with ease.
Use Cases
AI-Assisted Visualization Creation - Use Lineos AI to quickly generate visualizations by requesting specific chart types. The AI analyzes the data and automatically selects the most suitable visualization format, streamlining the visual creation process.
Budget Performance Tracking - Create comparison charts (clustered column or stacked bar) to visualize budget vs actual performance across departments or cost centers.
Revenue Trend Analysis - Use line charts or area charts to track revenue trends over time across different versions (Actual, Budget, Forecast).
Cost Composition - Display cost breakdowns using pie or doughnut charts to show the relative proportions of different expense categories.
KPI Dashboards - Create indicator visuals (Card, KPI, Gauge) to highlight critical metrics and performance indicators for executive dashboards.
Consolidation Analysis - Visualize consolidated group-level results across entities using waterfall charts to show how individual entity contributions build to group totals.
