Sheet Details: Options

The Options section in the Sheet Layout pane allows you to control data entry and the display of items with no data.

  • Enable Input to Parent Members: By default, data entry is confined to leaf/base members. However, when this option is enabled, it permits data to be inputted at a non-base level. When data is entered at a level above leaf members, it is automatically allocated to the leaf members in accordance with their existing proportions. If the leaf members have no pre-existing values, the allocation is distributed equally among them.
  • Enable Dynamic FA Context: Enables users to define which dimension members should be visible in the sheet, helping maintain focused and meaningful data views. For more information, see Dynamic FA Context Filter.
  • Show Items with no Data in Rows/Columns: When selected, rows/columns without data will still be shown. If unchecked, only rows/columns containing data will be displayed.
  • Enable insert option: This option is available to input snippets when Show Items with no Data is unchecked. It allows users to enter data directly into input snippets.

  • Related Pages: See Drill Through and Drill Down.
  • Controls Assignment: See Assign Control Snippets to Pages or Tasks.

Drill Through and Drill Down

JustPerform has introduced a capability to enhance data exploration and traceability: users can drill through and drill down across sheets, dimensions, and referenced components. This feature enables users to navigate complex data relationships, uncover dependencies, and gain deeper insights into how different elements interact across pages.

A "Related Pages" interface is introduced, allowing users to link sheets, snippets, remote tables, and dimensions that are referenced within a given sheet. Once linked, the system automatically identifies and displays common dimensions and metrics, helping users understand shared data structures and lineage. This contextual drill-through experience improves transparency in data modeling and supports more intuitive analysis across reporting layers.

Users can also customize the filter context when navigating between related pages, choosing from FA context, cell context, fixed members, or drill-through options, ensuring that the data passed between views aligns with their analytical needs. Non-common dimensions can be manually added to the drill view, giving users full control over what data is visible and how it's filtered.

Key Benefits

  • Enables users to drill through and drill down across sheets and referenced components.

  • Allows linking of related sheets, snippets, remote tables, and dimensions for contextual navigation.

  • Automatically identifies and displays common dimensions and metrics between linked pages.

  • Supports customizable filter contexts for precise data exploration.

  • Provides flexibility to include non-common dimensions in drill views.

  • Enhances transparency in data modeling and cross-page analysis.

  • Improves user productivity by simplifying navigation across complex reporting structures.

Using Drill Through and Related Pages – Step-by-Step

  1. Open the target sheet and then the Sheet Layout pane.

  2. Navigate to the Options > Related Pages section.

  3. Click the plus icon to link a sheet, snippet, remote table, or dimension.

  4. View auto-populated common dimensions and metrics shared between pages.

  5. Select the desired filter context (e.g., FA context, cell context, fixed members).

  6. Optionally include non-common dimensions by selecting and confirming them.

  7. Navigate to the related page to explore its structure and shared data elements.

This feature empowers users to explore data relationships with clarity and precision, transforming how they interact with multi-layered reports and accelerating decision-making across the organization.
